New year, new Qubiz Bike Ride

Even if we didn’t get the best weather (gross understatement), we had a lot of fun at the first edition of Qubiz Bike Ride last year. So much that we decided to do it again. This time when it’s a bit warmer outside. So, we scheduled the second Qubiz Bike Ride for the 16th of June. Also, for logistic reasons, we’re sticking to the same area: Strandul cu Valuri (Baile 1 Mai).

More about the event

With 3 biking tracks, Qubiz Bike Ride is open for experienced cyclists as well as for beginners. Those who prefer a relaxed pace can register for Open - 14km, while experienced cyclists, looking for an adrenaline rush can sign up for Race - 28km. What’s more, children - accompanied by an adult (parent, aunt, uncle etc) - can sign up together for the Family Race.More details about the age limits and other details for each track are available on the website: https://qubizbikeride.ro

Supporting education

Because we’re celebrating 10 years of Qubiz this year, we’d like to mark the occasion by contributing as much as possible to the local community. On the one hand, we’d like to encourage sports and a healthy lifestyle. On the other hand, we believe that education holds the key to a better future. That’s why we support education constantly both through our own, internal internship programs for college and high-school students, as well by contributing to external projects. After we supported Mihai Nesu Foundation last year, this year we decided on two educational projects: Fondul de Burse and Fondul Stiintescu - both implemented by Fundatia Comunitara Oradea.

  • Fondul de Burse provides material support for children coming from disadvantaged families. By helping them with school supplies, children who run the risk of dropping out of school can continue their education.
  • Fondul Stiintescu is a non-formal education initiative that helps children develop their passion for science and technology through alternative teaching methods. In 2018, 21 projects will receive financing through Fondul Stiintescu. Among these is CoderDojo - a coding workshop for kids.

When registering for Qubiz Bike Ride, participants will be able to choose the project to which they want to donate their registration fee. The registration fee is 35 lei and will be deposited with Fundatia Comunitara Oradea.Participants can register for the event until Thursday, 14th of June 23:59 pm.
