IT in the SPOTLIGHT, by Qubiz

Today, Qubiz was present at the University of Oradea, in the University's Library, with an event for students called: "IT in the SPOTLIGHT".

The moderator of this event was our Organizational Development Manager, Miruna, who introduced the speakers:

  • Marcel Anghel, CEO Qubiz RO -> he talked about the Qubiz nutshell, quality and culture in the company
  • Fred Kwakkel, Owner Qubiz NL -> he illustrated the mobile apps, in general, giving some examples, but especially concentrating on the Ketchuppp application - as Qubiz developed it - and by using Google Earth, Fred showed where it is used all over the world
  • Alex, developer at Qubiz RO -> he spoke more about the technical part of the Ketchuppp application, some issues that appeared in the development part and how he solved them
  • Hans Hamhuis, partner of Qubiz -> he teached the students about the importance of using Agile/Scrum in the projects and how to do them.

We were honored to have more than 100 students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informational Technology and The Faculty of Science present.

It was a very interactive meeting during which the students also had do 2 exercises, given by Fred, in which he asked them to suggest additional features to the current application or to tell which mobile app is their favorite, giving specific arguments.

For us it was a very nice experience and we are looking forward to meet the students again soon in the future.

We also gathered some testimonials from the attendees:

Raul: "The event was a great success, speaking from a student’s point of view. The speakers were friendly and their speech presenting the company, interacting with students and describing how things work inside and outside Qubiz definitely caught my attention. I’m glad that I could join the event ."

Mircea: " Today at qubiz I was pleased to find out that Marcel accomplished the ideas he proposed last year when he was at the

But what caught my attention was the relationship between Qubiz and the clients, the way they request feedback from the clients so they can improve their services and offer a better service each time they get a new project. Other things which caught my attention was the way they manage and help the developers/project managers/testers enjoy their workplace, make people feel like they are working from home and the weird thing that people are not leaving to go somewhere else."
