In Qubiz, we put emphasis on a healthy life next to a professional work approach. We usually start our mornings with fresh fruits and we end our afternoons or weekends with sports activities and sometimes even competitions. The point is to keep a balance between our work efforts and a clear healthy body and mind. Currently some of us take swimming classes, others play tennis, take biking trips, go to the gym or run.
2013 is for the Qubiz team a year when the most competitive of us took on running and biking competitions, but also some of us decided to overcome their fears of restless swimming pool waters.
This autumn, at the middle of September, for the second time in a row, we participated in Oradea City Running Day 2013, with a team of 4 members. Each participant had to run 5 km and in the end getting a very good lap time (an average of 25 mins/runner).
One month later, in October, for the third time in a row, we participated in Oradea Companies Cross, with 2 teams and 2 individual runners. There we won 5th and 12th place out of 18 teams. Also, at individual level we had very good results. More details about our results here.
Last year we also ran at the Oradea Companies Cross, where we won 5th place out of a total of 12 teams. Our first participation at this contest was in Cluj in 2011, where the Qubiz team was among the first from a total of 80 teams.
In September, this year, 3 of our colleagues participated in the Bike Day event, a bike competition organized by the ProBikers organisation, where one of our colleagues won 5th place out of the 20 participants. See results here.
In addition to our colleagues competing, there are several others of us who practice this sport day-by-day by using their bikes to get to work or just take a stroll through the city’s outskirts.
We started in 2011 with swimming classes and we liked it so much that it became a permanent activity in the company, giving some of us the opportunity to fight their water fears. We always have a lot of fun together.
Be it summer or winter, we never give up on health thus gym is a continuous hobby, as is playing tennis during the awesome summer days. No matter each person’s choice, we like the spirit of “Mens sana in corpore sano” and we live by it in Qubiz.
As a conclusion, looking behind, in the last 3 years, we can count 5 running competitions, 2 biking contests, more than 200 hours of swimming classes, more than 500 hours of gym classes and about 50 hours of tennis playing. That’s the Qubiz spirit.Qubiz is fit to sport! :)For more pictures, visit our Facebook page!
