Elderly Care Matchmaking Platform

Senior Atlas is an American startup platform that enables elderly people and their families to find caregiving professionals who can cater for their needs.

Solution

The matchmaking

Senior Atlas serves two types of users: Care Partners and Care Pros. Care Partners are family caregivers looking to share senior care responsibilities with other local family caregivers or find a care pro for hire. Care Pros are professional senior care providers looking to find the right family and senior to work for. The platform, based on the users' detailed profiles, offers matching recommendations.

The differentiator: care sharing

Connecting demand and supply is what most matchmaking platforms do. Senior Atlas encourages collaboration. Almost 30 million U.S. citizens provide unpaid care to senior family members. Senior Atlas matches families with neighbors who are also caring for senior loved ones so they can help each other out.

User safety

One of the central concerns of Senior Atlas is user safety. The matchmaking process is designed to limit scams and other risks. Users can visit the recommended profiles, add them to their personal network, and finally, chat with them, and establish a live interview. Users are encouraged to ask for references (people who have worked with a certain user in the past) and even order background checks.

Technical Details

We managed to deliver a modern web application (both in looks and under the hood) with a very limited budget. Senior Atlas is a responsive multi-role web application with its RESTful API and back-office built using Symfony and its front end built using the Webpack and Bootstrap.
